An assessment provides parents with detailed, objective information that enables them to better understand why their child is struggling in school. For parents, the report can form the basis of discussions with the school about what support can be put in place to help their child. For the child, it can help them understand how they process information and the reasons behind their difficulties.

Two options are offered:

Both options explore the following:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Spelling
  • Phonological awareness
  • Working memory
  • Speed of processing
  • Underlying ability

A full diagnostic assessment is available from the age of 7 years. A full diagnostic assessment can take 2-3 hours, but a break will be provided. Parents must decide if this is appropriate for their child. It is a very comprehensive assessment. Both screening and diagnostic testing will produce a report.

Screening explores the same areas as a full diagnostic assessment but not to the same depth. A screening assessment will take 1-1hr 30 hours. This may be a better option for young children. It does provide an insight into difficulties and strengths and helps to individually tailor tuition.

Full diagnostic and screening assessments are available for clients of any age. For further information a pre-assessment consultation is available free of charge.

For a rencontre amoureuse handicap diagnostic assessment, the specialist teacher/assessor will have:

  • A post graduate (level 7) specialist qualification
  • DBS clearance
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • For Assessments relating to the Disability Student Allowance- An Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) which is renewed every 3 years. These are granted by the British Dyslexia Association, PATOSS and The Dyslexia Guild.
